Getting ready to pack for your Scalloping Adventure?

What you need to bring:

Mask and Snorkel (required)
Fins and/watershoes
sunscreen (30 SPF+ is recommended no spray sunscreen please)

What to Expect?

First, your aquatic Easter egg hunt will begin as a boat ride out to the grass flats of Steinhatchee. Once you have reached the scalloping grounds your Captain will anchor the vessel and put a dive flag up. Next, each person will grab their mask, snorkel, and fins. After that, you will be able to climb down into the water and begin the underwater excursion.

Once in the water, guests look to the ocean floor for the shell’s shape or their “blue eyes” which often give their location away. If you locate one, then simply dive down and grab it with your hand (or net) and place it in your mesh bag. Above all, if you find one there’s usually a few more nearby so stay in that area! Your Captain will keep track of your limit and will show you how to clean your scallops for dinner! Steinhatchee is also heavily populated with restaurants that will cook your catch.
